How will I benefit from coaching?
Are you joyful in your life as it is? Are you seeing the opportunities and options that are open to you now as an empty nester? Are you confident in who you are and the future you want for yourself? Do you delight in the body you live in? Are you open and loving in your relationships? Are you fully living your purpose in life? Expressing your passions? Do you even know what your purpose and passions are? No? Well then, life coaching may be… just what the doctor ordered!

What’s the difference between coaching and therapy?
As a coach, I differ from a traditional therapist because my basic assumption is that you are psychologically whole and healthy. My job isn’t to “fix” you or “cure” you of anything.* It’s to help you look inside and find the person you want to become when you go “from being mom to being me,” the woman you set aside when you dedicated yourself to being a mom. Unlike therapy, coaching is more about what you want now and in the future, and less about what happened in the past to get you to here. Coaching is about developing your inner strength, what I call your mindset, to handle challenges or to change or grow something in yourself or your life. And it’s about learning the importance, to you, of keeping your word—in coaching terms, integrity and accountability–and how simply keeping your word leads to success in getting what you want for you, your family, your business and your life.

What’s the first step in coaching?
Coaching begins with discovering yourself. Do you know your natural behavioral styles? What about what’s important to you–your values? These, and some of the beliefs and decisions you don’t even know you have made, affect how you live your life and the quality of your relationships, including those with your children. When we’ve uncovered those, we get to discover what you want for yourself, set some specific goals and develop strategies to reach those goals. Along the way, you get the thrill of overcoming both internal and external obstacles that can pop up like toadstools in your path.

When is the best time to start working with a coach?
Now is always the best time. And with the challenges and opportunities that come with your empty nest, the timing is perfect to decide to get a coach. Whether your goals are related to health, relationships, finances or personal development, and especially if you just know you want something different, it’s tough to make any progress unless you first make a decision to make some changes now. Then you can get clear on exactly where you’re starting from and exactly what your endpoint looks like. That in itself can be a challenge, but if you don’t have a specific end in mind, how will you be satisfied that you’ve reached it? And if you don’t know where you are starting from, how can you possibly know what route to take to get you to your goal?

What is your personal philosophy about coaching?
My personal philosophy as a coach is that it’s all about you. I am here to serve you with compassion and integrity; to inspire and empower you to be your best self in your new life role; to cheer you on; and to help you grow into the person you need to be in order to have the life you want. I hold a mirror for you so that you can see the beauty and strength about and in you, and the truth of your actions and your beliefs. I am a steward for your goals, dreams and desires until you are able to hold and believe them for yourself.

Do you offer any medical services?
No. I left the medical profession to raise my family. I still have my medical license, but my services now are entirely educational and not at all medical in nature. If you need medical or psychiatric services, please be responsible and consult your own medical practitioner.

*DISCLAIMER: Although I am a medical doctor, my coaching programs, which may include hypnosis and NLP, are non-medical in nature and are for educational and entertainment purposes only. If you need therapy or medical attention, it is your responsibility to seek the care of an appropriate, qualified and licensed clinical therapist or clinical medical professional.

In the State of California, licensure is neither required nor available for coaches, hypnotherapists or NLP practitioners. Dorine Kramer, DGK Unlimited, Your Time to Soar, and From Being Mom to Being Me do not offer or practice therapy of any kind, nor do they offer any medical or diagnostic services of any description.

Your results in our programs are entirely dependent on the effort, time and focus you apply.
